TABOR MANOR - ST. CATHARINES
Tabor Manor Long Term care 9753 sq. meters 105,000 sq. ft
This 4-storey building addition was built to add to the existing Tabor Manor senior’s residence located on Scott Street in St Catharines. The building, was constructed on the north end of the property, and replaced the 82 beds with larger and more modern spaces. In addition, 46 new beds were added, all of which were built to modern standards. The rooms are larger offering more privacy. The bathrooms and entrances to the bathrooms are also larger to accommodate mobility devices such as chairs and lifts.
Amenities include sunny dining rooms, a courtyard garden, a full range of activities that contribute to the health and well-being of our residents, and a Chaplaincy program that provides church services, visitation and special programs to meet the spiritual needs of residents. The building was constructed using masonry bearing walls and floors constructed of hollowcore precast slabs. Construction involved significant logistical challenges in maintaining existing services, life
safety exits, fire alarm coordination with limited space for construction traffic.
