Smithville Christian Reformed Church 1708 sq. m 18,400 sq. ft Forty years after opening the doors to its current building, Smithville CRC decided that they needed a new facility to meet modern standards and barrier free requirements
Their former building required steps to access both the sanctuary as well as the washrooms and classrooms in the lower level. The new building was constructed on the same property as the former building, this required a number of challenges as the former building had to be torn down and the new footprint overlapped a portion of the former foundation. The congregation met in the adjacent Christian school during the construction of the new building. The new building was constructed as a barrier free building with slab on grade construction, wood frame walls and roof trusses and a conventional shingle roof. the exterior was a combination of brick veneer and cementious siding.
