LAKESIDE PARK - PORT DALHOUSIE
The Lakeside park project included construction of a new pavilion, bandshell and renovated washrooms. The new 4000 square feet pavilion was needed as the existing pavilion was deemed unsafe and not worth repairing.
The new pavilion design included higher ceilings brighter interior LED lighting and less access for birds. The washroom renovation included a complete gutting of the structure and installing new barrier free and vandal resistant washroom enclosures. A significant upgrade to the existing electrical service was also done with new transformers, power upgrade and underground conduit runs and pathway lighting.
Located at Lakeside beach, the high waters of Lake Ontario make this project a significant challenge as many construction areas were flooded requiring continuous dewatering. When the high water levels finally receded, sidewalk work and underground electrical work could be completed.
